How to get here
This is Scotland (except for the northern isles of Orkney and Shetland) and the area marked with the red square in the map on the left, is Inverness.
Inverness has an airport, a railway station and a bus station, with buses as the only regular public transport to and from the Black Isle.
By car you travel north from Inverness on the A9 (also the name of an excellent local band), over the Kessock Bridge, until you reach the Tore roundabout. Take the exit marked the A832 to Avoch, Fortrose and Cromarty. Follow this road until you reach Fortrose, with Rosemarkie a mile further on.
On the way, you may like to stop at the Cloutie Well, which can be seen on the right just before the turn off to Munlochy.
If you are coming from the north, you may like to experience a ride on the Nigg to Cromarty Ferry
