Here is an e-mail received in May 2002 from New Zealand. If anyone can help please reply through this site and we will pass it on.

Greetings!
I am writing from New Zealand.
My wife and teenage son and I will be visiting Scotland in November and we are interested in tracking down some family history.
My great great grandfather was Revd Duncan Mackenzie (of the Episcopal Church) and I know that he was married in Rosemarkie to Mary Jackson of York on 20th July 1841. I have a copy of the parish entry and it lists him as from Fortrose.
I know that he went on to be a minister in Fort William (approx 1827-49 according to one source) and Ballachulish (1861-79). Another document I have says that his son Duncan was born in the parish of Rosemarkie in 1848 (plus or minus 1 year).
I am interested to find out some more information and would welcome any comments from you about how we would go about this both from this end and if we were to visit (it would be about the last week of November or first week of December).
Is there anyone local who would be good for me to contact for more information of this sort. Feel free to pass this message on if you think anyone can be of help.
Thankyou.
Alistair Mackenzie
