Community Council Comments of ATM removal from Fortrose

In response to a planning application to remove the Cash Machine from the Bank of Scotland in Fortrose the Community Council has lodged the following objection with the highland Council.

FRCC object to the removal of the ATM until such time as satisfactory alternative arrangements have been made. Plans to remove it feel premature. You may be aware that Ian Blackford MP is corresponding with Lloyds Banking Group in relation to the closure of the Fortrose branch of the Bank of Scotland and the provision of alternative banking services in the area (letter attached). Kate Forbes MSP has also taken up this issue. Discussions between community representatives and the Bank of Scotland have yet to be convened. It would be inappropriate to allow the removal of the ATM from the bank building until such time as these discussions are satisfactorily completed and acceptable arrangements finalised
