The Chain of Office is a symbol of Fortrose's status as a Royal Burgh.  We understand that it is a replica of, or a replacement for, the original and it was made to celebrate the town's quincentenary as a Royal Burgh in 1955.   It's currently safely stored under lock and key (although its value is more historic than monetary!) but we would like to put it on display somewhere for residents and visitors to view it.  If you have a suggestion, email us at fortroseandrosemarkie@gmail.com or text us on 07498 431476.
